Who we are

Information we collect
You give us an email, display name, handle, bio, links, social handles, design choices (themes, colors, fonts, shapes, header layout, background), an optional profile photo and optional link thumbnails uploaded through UploadThing, short-link destinations and optional preview title, description, or image URLs, and QR names, destinations, and style settings. We do not currently collect visitor emails on public pages. Email capture exists in the codebase behind a flag and is off. It may be enabled later. If that happens, this policy will be updated in the same change. Clerk collects sign-in data (email and Google account details). When you pay, Stripe collects payment details. We do not store full card numbers. If you send a support message while signed in, we store the subject, message, your email, handle, and name so staff can reply. On a public page we record views and link taps so you can see Insights (counts for the page owner, not a marketing profile of the visitor). We load Vercel Web Analytics on every page. It does not set cookies. Vercel records aggregated page views (path, referrer, coarse location, device type, browser, and OS) using a hash from the request that is discarded after 24 hours. It is not Google Analytics 4 and is not a marketing profile of the visitor. When someone opens a short link as a person (not a social crawler), we record a click: time (UTC day), referrer host if the browser sent one, a coarse device class from the User-Agent (mobile, tablet, desktop, or other), and country (and sometimes city) if Vercel provides x-vercel-ip-country and related headers. We do not use this to show ads. QR codes are image files you download. We do not receive a scan event when someone points a camera at a printed code. We do not collect special-category data such as health or biometric data.
How we use information
We use this data to run your account, host your public page, create short links and QR settings, show you Insights and short-link click totals, understand how the site is used (Vercel Web Analytics aggregated page views), process upgrades through Stripe, store uploads, send transactional email related to your account, handle signed-in support messages, prevent abuse, and keep the product secure. We do not sell personal data. We do not use visitor Insights, short-link clicks, or Vercel Web Analytics to advertise to those visitors.
Processors we use
Clerk, Inc. authenticates accounts (sign-in cookies and identity). Convex (Convex, Inc.) stores application data: profiles, links, design settings, short links, QR settings, Insights, support tickets, and emails from public pages only if email capture is enabled later. Stripe, Inc. processes payments. Card numbers stay with Stripe. UploadThing stores images you upload. Vercel Inc. hosts the website and serverless functions and may see IP addresses and request headers, including country headers used for short-link stats. The same processor runs Vercel Web Analytics (cookieless, aggregated page views). Address: 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, United States. Website: https://vercel.com. Google LLC (Google Ads / gtag.js) measures visits to our marketing pages after you accept Analytics and ads cookies. Conversion ID AW-714265731. Short links and social previews
A short link’s job is to redirect people and count clicks. Chat and social apps often need Open Graph tags in the first HTML response. For those crawlers we fetch publicly available title, description, and image tags from the destination (or use the overrides you saved) and return them. We do not count those crawler hits as clicks. Search engines are told not to index /l/ URLs.
Cookies
We use necessary cookies for sign-in, language, this cookie choice, and (in local preview without Clerk) preview sign-in cookies. Optional Google Ads gtag.js loads only after you accept the Analytics and ads category. First-party Insights, short-link click counts, and Vercel Web Analytics (no cookie) are not that optional category. See the Cookie Policy.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies we rely on: contract (to provide the page, short links, QR settings, support replies, and account you asked for); legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, showing page owners aggregate Insights and short-link click totals for their own links, and Vercel Web Analytics aggregated page views to understand how the site is used); consent (optional Google Ads measurement cookies when you accept Analytics and ads); and legal obligation where the law requires it. You may object to legitimate-interest processing by emailing szabogergo.ev@gmail.com.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection, and you can withdraw cookie consent. You can complain to your local data protection authority. Security
We use HTTPS, Clerk for sign-in, access checks in Convex functions, and Stripe for card data. Uploaded images go through UploadThing. No system is fully secure. Email szabogergo.ev@gmail.com if you think there is a security problem.
How long we keep data
We keep account, page, short-link, QR, Insights, and support-ticket data while your account is open. If you close the account we delete or anonymize it, except records we must keep for billing, security, or law (for example Stripe payment records under Stripe’s policy). Short-link click aggregates stay with the short link until you delete the link or the account.
International transfers
Our processors may store data in the United States or other countries, including Clerk, Convex, Stripe, UploadThing, Vercel, and Google (Ads). They use their own transfer tools (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) as described in their privacy documentation.
Children
Forkply is not directed at children under 16. Do not create an account if you are under that age.
Other websites
Your public page, short links, and QR codes can send people to other websites. Those sites have their own terms and privacy notices. We are not the controller of data those sites collect.
Complaints

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date above and, where required, notify you in the product or by email.
